Vonnie Ames, 1952" Previous pencil price mark from a previous bookstore reads: "3.50 Signed" Intact binding, but extensive wear to cover and spine cloth. A priceless book inscribed by the author's wife after his death to a family friend. More on the friend "Ella Good" can be found online: "Ella Good was a member of the prominent Good family of northern Wisconsin. The Goods were famous early pioneers, resort owners, and civic leaders in the Ashland, Cable, and Hayward areas—the exact lumbering and "stump farm" backcountry where Merlin Ames taught and set The Fork in the Trail."
